TONIGHT!

tonight is the opening of "OFRENDAS 2008", an altar installation show i'll be part of, it's from 7-10 p.m., stop by if you can! here's a sneak peak..

i'll be part of this year's "day of the dead" altar installations at Tropico de Nopal Gallery in Los Angeles,the opening reception is this Thursday, October 30th from 7-10 p.m., the gallery is located at 1665 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90026, the wallpaper i designed below will be a small part of my installation...

live earth/pepsi project update!

a few weeks ago, i worked on a small project sponsored by live earth and pepsi's recycling initiative, i made a yeti can sculpture, the process was documented, and now it's on the website! CLICK HERE to check it out!

all over l.a.

today i hung out with my friend kennis, who is visiting from canada, we didn't plan anything, yet we ended up coming across some interesting places, here are the highlights..

we went to royal t, a cafe/shop/art space in culver city, very cute, very japanese, the waitresses dress up like maids in the cafe, definitely a "cute" experience, check out their website for all the 411, www.royal-t.org

we were hungry so we ended up at the 3rd street farmer's market, where we met the sweetest little lady, sue, who worked at the refreshment stand, she's a great example of why i love the elderly, she talked to us about growing up in north dakota, fishing in canada, the russians that live in her building, and that she feels like she's been on a 35 year vacation ever since she moved to california, she was soo sweet..

driving around we saw this window display from the car, and we parked to see what was inside...

it's a store called the valley of the dolls, they had lots and lots of dolls, including blythe,

another "cute" experience.
